We collect money to help the homeless

Make a Statement with Roskilde Festival by helping the homeless.

The Statement campaign focuses on the homelessness that surrounds us in Denmark. Therefore, we are doing a charity fundraising in favour of the organisation Projekt Udenfor (project outside) that works in the streets with homeless people – having compassion as the an ideal. We hope you will support it – we do.

Why does Roskilde Festival collect money for Projekt Udenfor?

Denmark is one of the wealthiest countries in the world - yet in 2009 5000 homeless people have been counted in Denmark. Experts estimate that the actual number of homeless people is larger and also growing as the number of people who are evicted by court order today is increasing. Roskilde Festival thinks it's an unbecoming inequality in a welfare state. Therefore, we encourage the audience to make a statement with Roskilde Festival and donate to Projekt Udenfor (project outside).

We have chosen Projekt Udenfor because they are enthusiasts in their field, are not dictated by anything other than charity and believes that all people have the right to be offered a helping hand without needing anything in return.

Why should I support Projekt Udenfor?

You should support Projekt Udenfor because they help the most vulnerable homeless people and care for those who do not even seek the help they obviously need. Projekt Udenfor help people who have fallen through the cracks in the public system and make contact with homeless people who have given up.

Your contribution ensures that there will be served hot, nutritious meals on the street and that medical care and veterinary help are offered to the homeless and their four-legged friends. Your contribution helps to ensure that the homeless have contact with the outside world and those who want it are helped into a home and during the difficult transition from being a homeless to getting a home have the possibility of engaging a voluntary visitor.

The charity fundraising takes place from 21 March to 3 April.

Thanks in advance!
